Biricoccole Agriturismo
“Le Biricoccole” is a new farm holiday, situated in Vada (Tuscany) in the north part of Maremma, in the middle of the “Costa degli Etruschi”. It is less than 1 km away from a beach, called “SPIAGGE BIANCHE DI VADA” (white beaches). The farm holiday is in a farm house, build at the end of the 18th century. The house is completely restored, but the style of the wooden-beam- and arched-ceilings has been respected. In a part of the old farm house, belonging to the “Leopoldina” reclamation, lives Mrs. ROSA MARIA with her family. In the stable there is a small museum of old peasant tools. Each room has its own bath-room and beds with high edges for children under 5 years. The rooms are furnished, according to the end of 19th century style. The farm is in the middle of an enologic-gastronomic-cultural way, called “STRADA DEL VINO” (wine street). Many wine-makers and shops, Ornellaia, Sassicaia, doc. Bolgheri, doc. Montescudaio are about 15 km far from this farm holiday. “Le Biricoccole” is one hour (by car) far from Volterra, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Siena, Pisa, Lucca. It is possible to make excursions with tourists’ guide to the different islands of the Tuscan archipelago. Boat excursions with fishers are also organized. On the coast and 50 km in south direction are many parks, under WWF and LIPU protection, reachable through cycle-paths, which arrive direct to the beaches. Less than 200 meters away there is a stable, where they organize horse-excursions on the beach, in the pine-woods and in the country-sides. It is also possible to follow windsurf and sail courses on the beach. “Le Biricoccole” has 4 hectares of biologic growing of old and different kinds of fruits, typical Tuscan and from the Mediterranean scrub, with AIAB certification. There is also a plantation of “biricoccoli”, an old kind of hybrid fruits between plums and apricots. In the farm garden you can find many kinds of poultry: chickens, rabbits, ducklings, geese. In the park watching to the hill side, where the sun rises, there are lying-chairs and umbrellas, and different children’s games and a small labyrinth; there are also tables, chairs and barbecue for lunches and dinners.
The farm offer use of bicycles with children seats, parking inside the farm, daily room-cleaning, air-condition, heating, bed-linen, the use of the children play-room and of the kitchen, common for all 4 rooms, gas and wood, crockery. It is also possible to follow courses of typical Tuscan Cousine, of Italian language, as well as painting of “Macchiaioli” style.
