Domus Loi
A lovely apartment in Ilbono, a little village peaceful situated in the inland of Ogliastra.
Ground floor: a livingroom with TV ‘n fire place, an open plan kitchen , two bedrooms, a bathroom. Terrace, garden, garden furniture, own parking place.

The village of Ilbono, located on a hill halfway between Lanusei and Tortolì, enjoys a privileged position as an important transit point. Sites of archaeological interest and lovely landscapes are abundant in the territory. Among them, Sceri, the largest and most important Nuragic complex of the area, dating back to the 2nd millennium B.C., surrounded by dense Mediterranean vegetation that adds a touch of magic to the place.
Other archaeological sites of importance are: Sartalassu, Tedili, Pira Inseri and Elucri (Roman settlements were also discovered in the last two). There are twenty nuraghi presently registered in the territory of Ilbono.

The area of Taré is worth a visit for its fauna specimens. The place is now easily accessible through a recently opened panoramic road linked to another road that cuts across the area of Parendaddai, where most of Ilbono’s archaeological treasures are located.
The village as an interesting historical centre which has developed around the ancient square Funtana de Idda, to which all roads still lead today; some are very narrow and cobbled, others are wider to allow, at one time, oxen-led carts to pass.
The small country churches of S. Cristoforo, S. Pietro and S. Rocco (the last two unfortunately in a state of decay) stand as testimonies of the ancient religiosity of this farming community. Among the personalities born in Ilbono, there is the Mannerist painter Andrea Lussu (born in 1913) and Anna Usai (a.k.a. UDA, also a painter), whose works are exposed in the parish church.

Almost an island on the Island, the Ogliastra regions offers visitors incomparable mountain and marine landscapes. From the sheer overhangs of the Gennargentu mountains to the white and inaccessible beaches along its coasts, you can get a glimpse of wild and uncontaminated Sardinia; currently the object of international research.
The Ogliastrina cuisine is amongst the most genuine and authentic on the Island. Its preparation is simple and modest ingredients are used to bring out its dishes' flavours. Let's begin with its hams and sausages in general, excellent appetisers, smoked using wood from the fragrant bushes of the surrounding area. Not to be forgotten is the variety of cheeses including goat cheese, salted ricotta and the characteristic casu axedu (sour cheese) made from sour curdled milk and to be tasted with honey.
Another typical cheese is casu e fitta (cured sheep cheese) that is eaten with wild fennel and river-mint seasoned
soup.
We continue with perhaps the most well-known dish in Ogliastra: “culurgiones" (small pasta sacks) filled with potatoes, garlic or onion, and cheese and flavoured with mint. “Coccois prenas" (flat bread) stuffed with the culurgiones filling or with vegetables is also very good.
Also to be remembered are the roasted meats, goat meat in particular, as well as other gastronomical curiosities like roasted lamb or goat innards. Amongst the characteristic bread varieties to be noted are pistoccu and “moddixina"
Given the abundance of cheese, scrumptious pardulas must be tasted and don't forget to try “panixeddas", sweet flat bread made with Marsala.
When one thinks of the Ogliastra region, its red wine of excellence, worthy accompaniment to this area's strong flavoured cuisine, Cannonau naturally comes to mind.
