Casa das Tílias dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, and is officially placed under the 'Tourism Manor House' system since it is the most effective way of preserving its ancient and beautiful features. The European Community and the Portuguese Tourism Government Agency recognized its historical value by partially supporting its refurbishment. Casa das Tílias is located at São Romão - Seia, a delightful village of Beira Alta right in the inner part of Portugal, that is 45 km away from Viseu, 65 km from Guarda and about 100 km from the Spanish border
Seia is a small town at an altitude of about 600 meters (about 2.000 feet), in the heart of the National Park of Serra da Estrela, (Serra da Estrela is the largest mountain in Portugal mainland). At Seia you can discover a different country where tradition, character and calmness are its main characteristics.
Casa das Tílias has a lovely suite with a finely worked empire style ceiling in relief, 4 double rooms (one of them with two beds), 1 triple room and 2 T1 apartments, each one with central heating, private bathroom, telephone and Satellite TV.
Also available for our guests, a nice and spacious living room, called 'Rainha Santa', due to the image on its 19th century ceiling, with fireplace, lighten up at cold evenings. There you can read, play, chat or simply seat at the balcony enjoying the silence. Casa das Tilias also has an old and pleasant pub available to all hosts and friends. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden, with swimming pool, and provides its guests a private parking lot.

During your stay, we provide maid service that takes care of everything for you, from room service to a delightful traditional breakfast: home made jam, honey, cottage cheese and, of course, the famous 'Serra' cheese, as well as a large selection of breads ( enjoy the local maize bread or the rye bread, which is still made according to old traditional methods).
