Description of the Property - Vacation Apartment Great Yarmouth
We still have only one, but very attractive, holiday chalet near Great Yarmouth with its nice sandy beaches at the Northsea coast. Easy for boating on The Broads and trips in beautiful East Anglia. We recommend the use of your own car. Gebr. Van Wermeskerken offers also (overseas) holidaymakers arrangements of a holiday chalet and a sailing with Stena Line (Hoek van Holland - Harwich) or P&O (Calais - Dover). For British customers we can arrange sailings at competitive prices from Dover, Harwich or Hull to the Continent.
Waveney Valley consists of 115 holidaychalets, attached in groups from 2 - 6 around extensive lawns. The chalets are well maintained. Flowers and shrubs make the site more and more friendly. The road from Butt Lane through caravansite Kingsfisher's leads to three parkings at Waveney Valley. Along the chalets are tiled pathes. Next to the reception are a shop and launderette and opposite the children's play- ground. Via the reception one can enter the heated indoor swimmingpool. At nice sunny days the doors are opened to a terrace. The pub annex restaurant offers typical English meals at very reasonable prices.
The chalets consist of a living (19 m2) with open kitchen, 2 bedrooms (each 6,55 m2), terrace, bathroom with bath and shower. Heating and cooking by electricity (cardmeter). Use the boiler only for the bath, that saves money. The chalets 3, 14 and 82 are for up to 4, 84 and 47 up to 5. The chalets are well furnitured and equipped and we tried to make them cosy. We got in 2003 many, many reactions from satisfied holidaymakers.
East Anglia is the area north-east of London, consisting Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfortshire and Essex. A typical old-English area. Waveney Valley is in Burgh Castle, 6 miles from Great Yarmouth. That is among the British a popular holiday resort because of its nice sandy beaches and lots of amusement. East Anglia offers so much, that we send our guests an East of England Guide with hundreds of tips where to go. That varies from historic houses with beautiful gardens, windmills in the flat land of Norfolk, little zoo's specialised in breeding one or two kinds of animals, steamtrains, carmuseums, warmuseums (many at old airfields from the Second Worldwar), naturereserves, heritage towns and addresses for a real English Afternoon tea.
Near Burgh Castle is an old Roman ruin. A ghoststory goes that in the night of 2-3 July a ghost flies over the ruin and falls into Breydon Water at the end of a battle between Romans and Normans. Many of this kind of stories go around - in pubs - in the Norfolk Broads. A visit to London is easiest with Anglian Railways, arriving in the City. With a returnticket one has free admission to London under- ground and buses.
