Description of the Property - Vacation Home Castro

Fresh, luminous, independent holiday house, split level, built against the wall of the headland where Castro turret's rises. It offer accommodation for 4-6 people.
On the top floor you'll find a large open space area comprising of a living-room that takes you without visual interruption to a covered veranda facing the magnific Adriatic sea.
This open space living area also features a large well equipped kitchen.
The night quarter is accessed by an internal staircase and features three bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other two with two single beds in each that can be converted into doubles, if needed. The spacious bathroom shower and large cupboard complete this area.
Every room in the villa including the bathrooms are full of natural light that can be dimmed by wooden shutters hand crafted by local craftsmen .
On the outdoor area, there is a shower to wash the sand away after a swim and a laundry equipped with a washing machine. Guests can get in and out of the bedrooms or living room through various corridors which connect all areas, beside the main entrance.
Another set of stairs made of local rocks will take you to a lower level and, meandering through covered walkways you will find flower beads, an herbal garden and a number of fruit trees. This add charm to this already lovely place.


About the region

A five minutes walk through little streets and steps, holiday houses and well kept gardens will take you to the centre of Castro, a rich and interesting historic and archaeological centre.
For those who prefer public transport there are two colourful little trains running constantly from the beach to the town or the Port of Castro.
Once at the Port of Castro you can indulge in a sea excursion on a rented boat or a visit to one of the magnific grotto abundant in this ancient land on board of Cruise-boats.
The whole area around Castro is spotted by green blotches of typical Mediterranean trees such as Myrtle,Oleander, Laurel, Ilex and Pine but also by small orchards and vegetable gardens selling the local produce.

Other attractions are the perfect climate, the crystal clear water and the very unique denticulated coastline.

Gastronomically, Castro offer an array of speciality restaurants many specializing in seafood watered down by the locally produced vines.

At the end of the day people gravitate to the "Piazzetta" for coffee, gelato and a long "passeggiata" or go to the numerous concerts, dances, and folkloristic shows provided.

It is also encouraged to visit the surrounding little towns nestled around the coast, for instance St, Caesarea therms, well known for the curative quality, only km8 from Castro. Otranto host for the Club Med centre and Santa Maria di Leuca, the aristocratic little town of the South at the very point of the Italian boot.
