The coastal area around Capo Vaticano is known as 'The Coast Of The Gods' mainly for the stunning coastline, a mixture of white sandy beaches and rocky coves and the crystal clear and clean waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
The area has not yet been invaded by hoards of tourists although it is becoming increasingly well known and visited by discerning travellers from northern Europe and further afield.
It is not full of discos and bars but plenty of restaurants, cosy bars, pizzerias, ice cream palours etc.
It is an area for a peaceful relaxing holiday, away from the masses. The main beaches are busy in mid-August but much quieter for the rest of the year. Even in August, there are beaches in the area that many tourists don't find - smaller, quieter, idyllic!
Sicily is within easy reach for a day trip and there are many cultural, historic and architectural sites to see locally.
