Our property is set in a quiet location with panoramic views of the sea and beaches, Stromboli and other volcanic islands, the ancient town of Tropea and much more.
You will have exclusive use of the property with surrounding multi level, terraces containing flowerbeds, shrubs and plenty of places to relax and get away from it all. Shade or sun, peace and quiet "“ and perfectly situated to explore the numerous attractions of the area.
Bar B Q in the garden - our local supplier arrives every morning with FRESH fish and our local town Zambrone has 2 excellent cheap butchers. Fresh cheese is delivered straight from the dairy twice a week.
VILLA CLARA is within walking distance of the picturesque town of Zambrone, which boasts a traditional "˜piazza', bars & ice cream parlour, amusement arcade, pizzeria, grocers and general stores, hairdresser, pharmacy, newsagent etc.
Zambrone also has an outdoor amphitheatre featuring both modern and traditional entertainment throughout the high season.
Our villa is ideally placed between the ancient towns of Tropea and Pizzo.
Pizzo is famous for wonderful ice cream (Tartuffo di Pizzo), swordfish and tuna. Tropea is a unique and busy, bustling town in the height of summer with many restaurants, bars, ice cream parlours and shops but quiet and peaceful throughout the rest of the year.
You will be staying 5 mins from AQUAPARK ZAMBRONE, a huge water and amusement park on Zambrone beach, an absolute favourite with adults and children alike from June to September. We can arrange discounted entrance on a daily or weekly basis.
Beyond Tropea is the holiday peninsula of Capo Vaticano, another jewel in the Calabrian coast and well known by scuba divers and snorkellers for the crystal clear waters that are found throughout Calabria. A visit to the area would not be complete without a dinner in the village of Bratiro, famous for local delicacies of meat and game.
The coastal area has a year round warm microclimate and for 10 months of the year the beaches are almost deserted - literally like having your own beach. In summer, Zambrone beach has bars and clubs; boat, pedalo and jetski hire; fishing trips are available from nearby Briatico.
The area is popular with paragliders and the local launch area is near to the villa.The whole area is full of things to do but if you prefer peace and quiet, chill out at 'LA CLARA'.
The villa is in private road in a sleepy neighbourhood. There is ALMOST NO traffic, no street lights, no noise - unless you want to make some - it's a free haven for you to do as you choose.We recommend that you have a car for at least part of you stay although everything you need is reachable by walking. A trattoria/pizzaria is 80 metres away and Zambrone railway station is only 3 km from the villa . We can arrange car, scooter and mountain bike hire, boat rental - just ask!
If Golf is your passion we have an arrangement with an idyllic and challenging local course for economic equipment rental and green fees. The 9 hole course is set amongst olive and citrus groves, is rarely crowded and has a great restaurant and bar and a huge designer swimming pool available to players and their families. If you just want to try golf for the first time, hire a club and head to the practice range with a bucket of balls. You will be hooked for sure and soon be enjoying you first round of golf. Golf for under 16 s is FREE.
There are numerous possibilities for excursions. Zambrone to Stromboli and other islands on a mini cruise; the ferry to Sicily is less than 2 hours away; Serra San Bruno, Reggio Calabria and other historic towns are all close enough for a day trip.
Zambrone is reachable by train from Hamburg, Dortmund and other Nth European cities (nearest mainline station Vibo Valentia/Pizzo 16 km) Lamezia (50km) has direct flights from Europe and Canada and via Rome/Milan from USA and other countries.
