Brisighella is an ancient mediaeval town and spa centre at the foot of three pinnacles of chalk on which stand the fortress Rocca Manfrediana, the Clock Tower and the Monticino Sanctuary. The village consists of a labyrinth of ancient alleys, stretches of the wall that once surrounded it, and stairways carved out of the chalk, Famous for its highly unusual architecture it is knows as " Via degli Asini" (Donkey Road) because it offered shelter for the animals of the carters who lived there. There are many religious buildings, Thò Parish Church build around the fifth century and rebuild in an extended form between the 11th and 12th century at the eighth mile of the ancient Roman road that ran from Faenza to Tuscany.
There are numerous tourist and cultural events where you can get to know local products or see and hear the best of jazz and modern dance. Every year between June and July the town is enlivened by the Mediaeval Festival: through ancient evocation you can relive a world of dream and fairytale, animated by knights and ladies love, duels and poisons. Just a few kilometres away you can immerse yourself in the beauties of Carnè Park and the Tanaccia Cave or discover the natural marvels of the Chalk Vein.
Trekking. The Appennini offer a rare natural frame as well as a various naturalist heritage of fauna, flora and geological outcrops that make this area one of the most scenically heterogeneous in the Emilia Romagna region.
