How to arrive: Balestrate is situated at 2 km from the Highway A 29 Trapani -mazzara del vallo and at 7 km from the main road SS 113 and the coast road SS 187 is passing trough Balestrate. Furthermore there is the railway and in the middle of the town you have the railway station, easily to reach from every part of the town. By Plane: Once you arrived at the International Airport of Palermo Punta Raisi you take the highway A 29 Trapani- mazzara del vallo and leave the highway at the exit Balestrate after about 15-20 min drive. After that follow the indications. By train: Once arrived at the central station of Palermo, take a local train trapani-mazzara del vallo and get off at the station of Balestrate. By ship: After your arrival at the harbour of Palermo, take the highway A 29 trapani-mazzara del vallo and get off at the exit Balestrate

Balestrate is a little village in the province of Palermo, at the mediterranean sea in the golf of Castellammare. All over the year, a lot of visitors and tourist are passing their time in Balestrate. From spring time til the late autumn who loves sun and seaside just takes a breake on at the beautiful sandy and golden colored beach. There are two beaches in Balestrate, one at the east and one at the west side of the town. The sea is of different beautiful colours from emerald green to several tonality of blu. The sea level is not deep and the water is warm. Balestrate is a modern seaside resort, perfect for your relaxing holiday. Balestrate does not offer only seaside and lots of possibilities for watersports but even a green area with a forest of eucalyptus, pine trees and others equiped for picnics to enjoy the complete day outside. In the middle of the coast of Balestrate you'll find the yacht harbour, the boast of Balestrate. Addresses: There are a lot of things to see and to visit. For sure one of the most suggestive is a ride in a motorboat to the golf from Castellammare and Scopello. The riserva dello Zingaro (1600 hectar of mediterranean vegetation) with palms, agaves and 40 different types of birds, i faraglioni (the clipps) and the tonnara di Scopello (tunny fish place) with its beautiful Norman towers. A bus service and the perfect highway connection garantee to arrive easily to Segesta to visit the temple and the spa with its 45 º warm and sulphureous water. Erice and Trapani, the last easily to reach even by train should be visited. From the harbour of Trapani you find connections by ship to the Aegadian Island which are Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo. Furthermore from Trapani you can reach Pantelleria and Linosa by ship. In less than one hour driving you reach Segesta, Selinunte, Calatafimi, Mazzara del Vallo and the phoenix city of Mozia. At east within 40 km you arrive to Palermo, rich of traditions and history. In Palermo you should visit: the Norman Cathedral, the Capell Palestina, the church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, The Martorama, the palace Abbatellis, the museum of puppets and many more. At 12 km from Palermo you find Monreale with its norman cathedral and the cloister of the Abbey Benedettina. Even the Joto lake is close and is a beautiful destination to visit. In Balestrate are available lots of restaurants and Pizzaplaces, famous for the perfect food and the regional specialities, often prepared with own vegetable, or fresh from the sea.
