Its panoramic position and its peaceful isolation amongst the verdant mountains of Cortona make the farmhouse La Coccinella one of the most attractive accommodation facilities in the Cortona area and surroundings. The farm is located 10 miles away from Cortona in a position that allows it to benefit from the warmth of the sun all day long. The farm, surrounded by lawns and forests, is perched at a height of 650 metres a.s.l. and enjoys a stunning view of the valley of the river Minimella and the Tuscan and Umbrian Apennines.
Far from trafficked roads and from the hustle and bustle of the city the farm is an ideal place to spend your holidays in absolute quiet and offers its guests all modern comforts (swimming-pool and other facilities) and the chance to reach all most attractive centres of Tuscany and Umbria by car within minutes. Here in this uncontaminated environment you will be able to behold the beauty of the colours nature lavishes on us, smell its scents and breath in some of this eminently pure air to regenerate your body and soul.
During the day besides going for a swim in the pool, basking in the sun and reading a good book in the shade of a nearby grove, you will be able to take a tour of a our farm consisting of woods, tilled land, lawns, ponds, olive groves, vineyards, vegetable gardens, orchards, a chicken farm and a small flock of sheep.
Depending on the season you may have a chance to taste the natural and typical products of the woods such as strawberries, blackberries, mushrooms, chestnuts and the produce of our garden such as melons, watermelons, cucumbers, etc. The farm is completely family-run and all people here wish to cater for your every need and make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.
In the evening, in case you feel like cooking yourself, we will be glad to offer you for free some of the biological produce of our vegetable garden and, in case you wish to taste the typical Tuscan cooking, the closest restaurant is only ¾ of mile away.
THE APARTMENTS
The farm was completely renovated preserving its original structure and is divided into two different apartments, one located on the first floor and one on the ground floor for a total surface of about 110 s.m. Each apartment may accommodate up to 4 people (2 bedrooms for each apartment) plus two extra beds for each apartment for kids.
The apartments do not communicate between them and have each a independent entry.
Both apartments share a 16 x 32 ft swimming pool equipped, cleaned and serviced daily with deck chairs and a large lawn in front.
Several paths starting from the farm will allow guests to take wonderful hikes in the woods.

HOW TO GET US
The farmhouse La Coccinella is located in San Pietro a Dame, a small hamlet located on the mountains of Cortona, about 10 miles away from town. The farmhouse, located along the path of an ancient roman road.

HOW TO GET US: BY CAR
Highway A1 Autostrada del Sole:
* Exit Valdichiana-Bettolle
* Past the exit take a right turn and drive on for about ¼ mile
* Take a further right and get on the Siena-Perugia speedway, direction Perugia, for about 6 miles; get off at the Cortona exit
* Take a right for Cortona. About 5 miles down the way you'll get to Camucia; drive underneath the railroad bridge and ¼ mile afterwards take a left turn for Cortona; at the first traffic light take a right and then the first left.
* Once up in Cortona drive along the city walls for about 1 and ½ miles as far as Torreone;
* Drive past Torreone for about 4 miles until you get to Portole;
* In Portole take a left at the crossroads and drive on for 5 miles until you hit San Pietro a Dame
* Drive past the San Pietro a Dame sign for about ¼ mile; the farm is the first house on the left hand side.

* Exit Promano;
* At the exit drive on to a roundabout and take a left for Trestina
* In Trestina drive on as far as Volterrano-Morra
* In Volterrano drive on until you hit Ansina and take a left for Poggioni
* At the intersection with the Sp 38 take a left for San Pietro a Dame
* Drive past the San Pietro a Dame sign for about ¼ mile; the farm is the first house on the left hand side.

* Direct line Milan "“ Bologna "“ Florence "“ Rome
* Railroad Station of Terontola-Cortona (120 miles from Rome, 76 miles from Florence)
* Railroad Station of Camucia-Cortona (125 miles from Rome, 80 miles from Florence)
* Cabs and buses (change at the Cortona terminus and get on the bus for San Pietro a Dame) available in both stations (Terontola 18 miles, Camucia 14 miles).

* Check-in and check-out on Saturdays
* For organizational reasons the apartment will be made available to incoming guests on Saturdays starting from 2 p.m. ad must be vacated by 10 a.m. on the Saturday of departure.
* Weekly stays with check-in on days other than Saturday available on request in low-season
* Pets allowed provided the do not cause disturbance to people and things. Pet accommodation charge € 36 per week
* The swimming-pool opens from May to October
Is possible to reserve also a single apartment ,naturally the prices is less of 50% regarding the price on above list .
PAYMENT
The apartment will be regarded as reserved only upon receipt of a down-payment of 150 euros. Payment can be made through bank transfer .
