General Description
Built in 1427 and recently restored, Villa Poggio San Felice sits on a hill just south of Florence with sweeping views of the fabled city and its signature dome in the distance.

Closer in, the green, rolling Tuscan landscape is dotted with magnificent villas and other typical structures of the region including the last residence of Galileo just a mile from here. One could not wake up, look outside and imagine being anywhere else. This is Tuscany.

The swimming pool enjoys a panoramic view and is shared, along with a fitness room, with the owners. One of the first floor bedrooms and the top floor boast two large, furnished terraces with views of the countryside and Florence in the distance.

While the second floor is more simply furnished, and its three bedrooms feature screened windows, the first two stories of the villa are notches above in décor. Here the elegant style of the Renaissance is fully evident. There is a bathroom for each air conditioned bedroom. In total, Villa Poggio San Felice offers eight bedrooms, a large dining room, four living rooms, a professional kitchen, fireplaces, satellite television, a PC with high speed Internet access and numerous patios, gardens and terraces.

Please note that the presence of the elevator does not mean the absence of steps. There are steps to reach the elevator and steps within the second floor once reached. Two washing machines are available, and four hours of daily maid service are included in the price. Both the owner and the staff occupy a separate wing of the villa.

From here, the entrance of the Porta Romana gate into Florence is a 10 minute drive and the city's historic center is within 15. Also within a 10 minute drive is the entrance to the A1 highway and access to the rest of Italy.

By car, Greve is 30 minutes away; Arezzo: 45; Siena, Lucca or San Gimignano: 60; Bologna: 75. The final two miles of road leading to Villa Poggio San Felice are paved but very narrow and require compact rental cars instead of vans.
