Poggio Gavignano is perched on the top of the hill it is named after from which it enjoys a beautiful view of the surrounding hills cultivated with olive trees and vineyards where the Chianti Colli Fiorentini wine originates from. It is a perfect hideaway for those seeking a holiday in total comfort and privacy, surrounded by stunning countryside where the peace and quiet induce total relaxation.
The villa is within easy reach of several cities of art and the perfect starting point for beautiful excursions, is located near the village of Malmantile within the municipality of Lastra a Signa and only 15 km away from Florence. Malmantile is a small fortified village of Medieval origin which from as early as the 12th century became a military post to stand watch over the city of Florence.
You may also visit the several old villages nearby: Lastra a Signa, only 4 km away, famous for the Museum of Straw Work (Museo della Paglia); Montelupo Fiorentino, 3 km away, the town of ceramics where the Ceramics Museum and the Archaeological Museum are located; Artimino, 8 km away, an Etruscan site where you will also find the stunning Villa Medicea la Ferdinanda designed by the Florentine architect Bernardo Buontalenti in 1596. And then the town of Vinci, Leonardo’s birthplace and only 16 km away.
