Characteristic apartment situated in the hills of Tuscany at only 7km from Florence and 45min. drive from Siena. The house is wonderfully positioned and has a full view of Florence and of the surrounding hills. The house was originally the oil pressing area which is still part of the still existing castle. The eleventh century castle used to belong to a very famous noble family; the Catillini. The romantic, historical church of San Michele a Castiglioni is near by and was part of the complex. Many walking itineraries in the area are also available to lovers of country-side hikes. This spetacular setting is at 400mt (slm) and is cool and pleasant during the hot summer period. The attractions of this area are: the PARCO DI VILLA DEMIDOFF, il LAGO DI BILANCINO, l'AUTODROMO DI FORMULA 1, il CASTELLO DI CAFAGGIOLO and il CASTELLO DI TREBBIO, il MONASTERO DI MONTESENARIO e FIESOLE. Siena is 70 km from the house, San Giminiano 60 km, Pisa 100 km and Lucca 84 km.

From North A1: the exit from autostrada FIRENZE NORD is BARBERINO. You should follow the road signs BORGO SAN LORENZO and then FIRENZE. When you will arriving in Pratolino's country you should follow the road sign SESTO FIORENTINO-MONTE MORELLO. After 4-5 km you have to turn left (Via delle Palaie) and drive down for 800mt. Then you turn left in a country road with cypress trees. This leads to the villa. The palce is called CASTIGLIONI. We will be there to welcome you- From South and Airport: you should follow the road signs OSPEDALE DI CAREGGI. Once at the hospital you follow the road signs for SERPIOLLE-CERCINA. When we get the Piazza of the Church of Cercina (Chiesa di Cercina)you have to turn left in VIA DELLA FONTACCIA and drive up for 700mt. Then you turn right in a country road with cypress trees. This leads to the villa. The place is called CASTIGLIONI.
