At the end of the village road Mærvollveien where high alpine Lofoten mountains, fjord and sea meet, only 80 meters from the sea - you will find an intimate, charming little 120 year old house (4 persons) with grassturf roof for rent. Please look at the winter photo. The rent house you find in the centre of that photo. The only nabour buildings here are the owners house (closest to the sea) and two old farm houses (without animals). Thus this location is a special peaceful one. Price: NOK 3400/week. Please pay 30 % of the rent amount 2 months before you come (the bank account number and so on will be given to you when you order) and the rest amount in cash when you arrive. Bedcloths: NOK 75/person. Please inform in advance if you do not bring with you bed cloths or sleeping bags and thus need to rent bed cloths. The house is to be cleaned by the guest before departure so that it is ready for the new guest.
Mærvoll (Maervoll) you find on the northwestern part of the central Lofoten island and municipality Vestvågøy. Great hiking and fishing opportunities. About 4 -5 km from here you may watch the Midnight Sun from the end of May to mid July.

The rent house is suitable for 4 persons. Electrical heating and bathroom with shower and WC. A little kitchen with table, electrical oven, fridge, sink and utensils. The living room has sofa, tables and chairs, cupboard, chest of drawers and book shelf. In the same floor there are also two small one person bedrooms. Upstairs the ceiling height is a little low, but here there is a bedroom for two persons. Solid outdoor benches and table made of timber.
About 600 meters before you come to the little house there are rorburooms in a spacious Seahouse (Joh. L. Unstad Sjöhus) for rent. The seahouse is spacious and offers special good opportunities for youth groups and other low budget groups. The prices are NOK 300-500/rorburoom/night (2-6 persons). Bedcloths: NOK 75/person.
How to get there: Airplane Oslo-Bodø-Leknes in Lofoten (19 km from Mærvoll). The Coastal Steamer (Hurtigruten) Bergen-Stamsund in Lofoten (35 km from Mærvoll). Train Oslo-Bodø and further to the Lofoten islands with plane, Hurtigruten, ferry or bus/car rental.Train through Sweden to Narvik. Boat/bus/car rental further to the Lofoten islands. The final voyage Leknes-Mærvoll: E-10 Leknes-Liland 11 km (2 km before Borg). Then drive 5 km westwards along Steinfjordveien and Unstadveien and through a 400 meters tunnel.
After having passed the tunnel you see the white Joh. L. Unstad Sjöhus (seahouse) far away in the fjord, 3 km from the tunnel. You have to pass the seahouse and continue about 600 meters to the end of the road Mærvollveien before you get to the little rent house with grassturf roof (left on photo number 3, which is taken from the high Himmeltindene mountains(English: 'The sky peaks'), 965 m high).
