La Gouiranne, Gîte 664 Gite-Holiday House GOULT

The Gîte 664, "La Gouiranne", is located at the foot of the village of Goult, in the Luberon, Provence. It is an independant villa, situated on a terrain of 2000 m² with a swimming pool, complete with alarm, which is open from April to October.

The first floor sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms; the beds can be configured as doubles or singles, as you prefer. There is a fully equipped apartment (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom) on the ground floor, which sleeps 2 in a double bed.

The kitchen is large and fully equiped, as is the bathroom (2 basins, bath/shower). There is a working fireplace in the living/dining room. Other amenities include electric heat in each room, a balcony facing south, garage, laundry room, outdoor barbeque, terrace, grassy back yard, bamboo grove, etc. Walk to the village in 5 minutes for your croissants fresh from the boulangerie in the morning, or for the ambitious, take the "grande randonnée" trail to the next village or across France!)
The village of Goult has a bakery, two butchers, where you can buy such delacies as Limousin beef and chicken of Brest; a grocery (and everything else!) shop, café, an assortement of restaurants including Le Bartavelle, boutiques, post-office, and library. Of course, the wine co-op is only about a kilometre away!

Nearby attractions include Avignon and the Palais des Papes (Pope's palace); head to the south-east towards Montpellier, and you will find the famous Camargue, where you will see the toros and facinating horses, as well as a variety of birds. Les Saintes-Maries is a good place to stop for lunch and a swim in the ocean. The city of Marseille is about 2 hours to the south-west, and just past that you will find Cassis, with it's high cliffs and incredible calanques.

There is plenty to do in historic Goult itself, enjoy the magnificent views from the windmill, hike to surrounding towns, visit Lunières, Roussion, Gordes, Minerbes, La Coste, St. Saturnin-lès-Apts, Apt. Depending on the season, enjoy the bright colours of the almond and cherry trees in bloom, the endless fields of red poppies, the rows of lavender, the grapes ripening on the vines before the harvest of the AOC Cotes de Luberon and Cotes de Ventoux vintages. Pick-up some fresh food for your dinner from the farmers markets in Apt and Coustoullet, as well as antiques at Isle-de-la-Sorgue; And after all that, you may want to relax in the pool and listen to the birds while you sip some very good local wine ...
