Gite-Holiday House Hautefort

A warm welcome awaits you for your stay in a traditional Stone Farm cottage with a breathtaking valley view. Les Gites Fleuris, La Petite Rose, is located on a quiet semi-private single lane road, nestled in one of France's most pastoral areas with narrow roads and beautiful landscapes. Only 2 km is the dramatic Chateau de Hautefort! Nearby are prehistoric sites, medieval villages, and 1001 castles.

La Petite Rose is a 1 bedroom, self-catering house with a living room with big fireplace, TV, DVD player, Wifi, and CD player, and a sofa sleeper for 2. The bedroom has a double bed and large sunny windows overlooking the gardens and ensuite bathroom. You have an outdoor dining terrace with barbeque, a wonderful place to relax over a home cooked meal! This home combines centuries old French charm with modern comforts.

The Pool, Jacuzzi, and sundeck are in the orchard, surrounded by grass, trees and flowers. Relaxation is easy, either poolside, in the Jacuzzi, or on a hammock; or enjoy a peaceful stroll of the property acreage of fruit and walnut trees. Family friendly with: ping-pong, badminton/volleyball, croquet, swings, children’s raised fort with climbing wall. An indoor games room with billiards, games, toys, ping pong, and Disney video cassettes. Laundry room with washing machines and dryers. Something for everyone!

Hautefort is a great bicycling and walking area with rolling hillsides and lovely forest and valley views. All services are within walking distance down a country lane:
1 km to boulangerie, grocery store, medical center (with English speaking doctor), and bank.
2 km to tabac, post office, and the office of tourism. 2.5km to a lake.
You feel "away from it all" but you can walk to anything you need!

Perigord is THE place to go if you love truffles and foie gras. This little corner of Southwest France is home to the black truffle, one of the most famous and expensive luxury foods of France. (Truffle Markets are open in Winter!) It is also the land of foie gras-- that typical French delicacy made from fattened goose or duck liver, along with other Canard specialty dishes. We have many good restaurants in the area. The wine regions of Bergerac and Bordeaux are only 1 hour to 1.5 hours away.

There are many famous tourist sites: grottes (caves), Troglodyte sites, Bastille towns, Castles, and old villages are within a 1-hour radius away (Lascaux is only 20 minutes).Valley’s with castles where one can easily imagine bandits, knights in armor and the primitive life of the peasants. Many sporting activities in the area: basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, bocce, canoeing, fishing, etc... After a day of touring the sites, relax and enjoy the serene valley views from your terrace, pool, or Jacuzzi! Open year round with central heat and fireplace!

Step back in time to the old France of farms and castles and caves and stone villages; and after touring, enjoy a wonderful bottle of Bergerac or Bordeaux Wine with some of France's famous cheeses!
