The surrounding area
Orta Miasino: Miasino is a small town on the hills surrounding the Orta lake at roughly 3 km from Orta S. Giulio. What will strike you when heading towards this location is the mesmerising scenery between the mountains at your back and the lake surrounded by lush green hills. In Miasino you can find many baroque constructions of the 1700's, some villas from the 1800's and several very valuable architectural structures (like the Parochial Church of San Rocco and Villa Nigra), which testify the history of this area which had many illustrious inhabitants. From here you can reach the summit of Monte Mottarone (5 km) and enjoy the view which goes from the Orta lake to lago Maggiore and the Alpsi.
