It is two blocks to the village center and beaches, within hearing range of the waves, and set back on a private 1/2 acre. It has 3+ bedrooms (sleeps up to 8) and 1 bath, breakfast nook, sun porch, living room, den, pantry. deck, garage and shop. It is equipped with a new oil heating system, (in-floor register in every room), working fireplace, a washer and dryer and a new stove/oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. It has cable, TV, VHS, DVD, stereo (CD) and a record player. Free domestic phone calling, hi-speed Internet & wireless, 160 channel TV. New outdoor hot water shower with mahogany flooring and red cedar siding. Art and antiques accentuate the home.
Tuckaway is Located in 'Sconset, a quiet, historical village on the eastern end of Nantucket Island (the 2nd most eastern town in the United States). The village is noted for its small cottages that range back to the whaling days - Many date back to the 1600-1700's. It is famous for its early days of playwrights and artists, Hollywood stars, and the 'Sconset Casino (Tennis Club). A number of the island's finest restaurants and beaches, as well as the Sankaty light house bracket the town. With one small post office, grocery and town square, it is known as the quaint, quiet town on the island.
Nantucket Island Join the whaling tradition, 30 miles at sea off of Cape Cod is known as the 'Old Gray lady of the Sea', an early whaling settlement, now a world famous getaway. It is a mixture of great restaurants, beaches, boutiques, and water sports framed by architecture that has withstood time. Buildings from early settlement 1564 through the revolutionary war, into the whaling days are renovated and lived in today. The original cobbled main street bustles with visitors from around the world. Whaling captains' mansions to fisherman's shacks stand proudly along the streets. The island is a mere 12 miles by 4 miles with Nantucket in the center, Madaket at the west end and Siasconset at the east end. Â
