The region of Evolène "“ a unique area in the Swiss Alps
A area of unlimited freedom awaits you only 20 minutes from the Sion-East exit of the N9 motorway, between 1200 m and 4300 m altitude.
Evolène-Region, a country within a country, the fourth largest commune in Switzerland in surface area, the well-preserved heart of the Valaisan Alps. Its micro-climate, prestigious mountains, vast unspoilt glaciers, rivers, forests of larch and arolla pines, protected flora and fauna mean that in Evolène-Region you can alternate between taking up the challenge of the great outdoors and relaxing in undisturbed peace.
Over 50 walks, excursions and more than 100 km mountain-bike circuits, individual and group climbs and tours organised from spring to the end of the fall season.
During the winter season, Evolène has many well groomed Ski slopes. Good news! The tickets are very reasonable! The bus stop for the Ski Bus is across the road from our building. There are also ample parking facilities near the chair-lift station. The lift takes you up to the ski area. At the end station, there is a restaurant with a large Sun terrace. The view is breathtaking! There is a small area with a T-Bar for children and beginners just behind the restaurant. The T-Bar station which takes skiers and snowboarders up to the second and third level is just below the restaurant. A variety of well groomed Slopes await you!
Trails for walkers and snow-shoe tours. A well groomed cross-country trail runs from Evolène along the river to the next village, Les Haudères.
If you wish to leave Evolène for a day, there are a number of very interesting cities close by: Sion, Zermatt, Martigny. Please don't forget Lake Geneve. It's magnificent!
Our apartments are in the "žRésidence d'Evolène, an eloquent more than 100 year old building. The exterior has been restored and has retained its original romantic character and the interior has been completely modernised. The house is situated at the entrance to the village. The area around the building is quiet, but close to the shopping area as well.
Each of the two room apartments has a bathroom, a well equipped kitchen niche in the living room, a queen-sized bed in the bedroom and a bed sofa in the living room. They are equipped with television, radio and CD player. The apartments are adjacent to each other and can be rented separately or together - an ideal arrangement for groups or families.
