Villa Borgo S. Michelle - Amalfi
Villa Borgo San Michelle is an enchanting 240 square-meter (about 2.5 square feet) villa which sleeps 8-10 people. It features a terrace, a garden, and a wide and splendid view of the sea. It is about 1 km (about 0.6 mile) away from the sea and the beach, and 3 km (about 1.9 miles) away from the center of Amalfi. It is equipped with air conditioning and winter heating.
There are five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a living-room with two additional sleeping places, a kitchen, a terrace, and a garden.
The place
Villa Borgo S. Michelle is an old villa surrounded by a garden, and it also has access to a lemon orchard.
The villa is located in a prominent position on a picturesque stretch of rocky coast about 100 meters (about 328 feet) above sea level. It overlooks the sea really close by.
You will be able to reach it quite easily: from the main road, all you have to do is walk for about 50 m (about 164 feet) on a footpath consisting of about 50 steps.
You can park your car free-of-charge on the main road. A parking space in a garage is available upon request at Euro. 15 daily.
Villa Borgo San Michelle is part of a small hamlet of old houses gathered on the top of a promontory, all facing the sea and the sun and also surrounded by typical terraced gardens where lemon trees are cultivated. Here live the inhabitants of Amalfi, with their tranquil lifestyle away from crowds of tourists. The houses are distributed around a tiny old church and connected through stone stairways which descend from the upper part of the coast to the area down below, the beach and the sea.
At least once, if you are in good shape, leave the car and the bus aside and go down towards the sea through this old pathway. It is a walk which will fill with you joy and energy: throughout the whole path you will be embraced by the vivid colors and perfumes of the Mediterranean vegetation and attracted by the enchanting scenery of blue sea right in front of you...
The garden
Once through a small gate, you will step into the part of the garden which lies in front of the main entrance of the villa. You will soon realize that you are in an enthralling place: several red and yellow flowers grow out from rustic grey-stone walls and surround a beautiful marble fountain and an old olive tree with contorted trunk offers some shade to a bench and a table with chairs.
It is in the most sun-drenched area of the garden that you will find some deck chairs and another table with chairs arranged in a way to enable guests to enjoy the panorama over the sea.
The guests of Villa San Michelle can also enjoy the access to another enchanting garden situated on the opposite side of the house and reached only from the living-room. It is a rustic angle where you will feast your eyes on the spontaneous flora of the Amalfi Coast, which lushly grows from limestone rocks.
From the garden you will be able to reach the lemon orchard of the house, formed by stretches of terraced land covered in thick pergolas of perfumed lemons.
Here you will also find a table with chairs, deck chairs, and a barbecue. You will have a wide view of the steep valley below and the sea.
The house and the terrace
Villa San Michelle is three-storey high. On the middle floor you will find two large double bedrooms with a bathroom inside each. Both bedrooms have a balcony overlooking the sea. One bathroom is equipped with a shower while the other has a bathtub with shower taps.
The corridor on this floor communicates with a large terrace, shaded by a pergola and well-furnished with tables, chairs, and deck chairs. Even from the terrace your eyes will be feasted on the wide horizon of sea and sky and on a picturesque stretch of coast.
During limpid days you can see the entire arch of the gulf of Salerno far in the horizon.
Closer and if you look right below you is the steep coast covered in bright green lemon pergolas which seem to plunge into the blue sea. The terrace is lit in the evening. It will definitely be one of your favorite places to relax outdoors.
From the corridor on the middle floor, you go down a white staircase leading to the living-room. It is a room pleasantly furnished with a fireplace, a couch, a table, and large arched windows which frame the beautiful view of the sea and the coast. A patio door leads to the garden. A small corridor with a curtain at the end leads you from the living-room to a large area where there is a double bed. This area, used to add two sleeping places, is a passageway to the kitchen. Next to this room there is a bathroom with a shower and a laundry area.
The kitchen is a spacious and elegant room with beautiful white furniture. It has a cooking area and another space with a table and chairs. It is equipped with a four-burner stove, an oven, a fridge with freezer, and a washing machine.
You will find the other two bedrooms on the top floor of the villa. You will reach it from by climbing an indoor staircase of about 20 steps. The bedrooms and the bathrooms are placed along a spacious corridor.
The two double bedrooms are large and feature vaulted ceilings, typical of houses in the Amalfi Coast.
Every bedroom has its own balcony overlooking the sea and the coast. The balconies are big enough to have two chairs so you can sit outdoors. Both bathrooms have showers, and in one you will find a hydromassage shower.
On this floor there is also a second kitchen. This kitchen is equipped with a table and chairs, a four-burner stove, an oven, and a fridge with freezer. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine.
All the rooms at Villa San Michelle are equipped with satellite-dish TV.
Furnishings are well-cared for, gracious, and comfortable.
The beaches
You will have several choices regarding beaches to go to. You can take the bus which stops 50 meters (about 164 feet) away from the house and reach the beach of Amalfi. From there it is also possible to take small boats which take bathers to splendid small inlets along the coast.
One of these inlets, the so-called beach of Santa Croce, is reached even on foot from villa Michelle and the walk is definitely one not to be missed if you feel like climbing down 400 steps dug into the rock overlooking the sea.
To go back up you can get small boats which in only 10 minutes take you on a splendid ride on the sea to the port of Amalfi, where you can take the bus to go back to the house. During spring/summer all the beaches feature open restaurants and bars, rental of umbrellas and deck chairs, and also small boats connecting to places nearby.
In Amalfi, you can also go scuba diving and practice water sports.
Nearby tourist attractions
Villa San Michelle is a great starting point to visit all the coast.
It is only 3 km (about 1.9 miles) away from the port of Amalfi, where mini-cruise boats depart to the islands of Capri and Ischia, Positano, Sorrento, Naples, Salerno, Agropoli, Santa Maria di Castellabate, and the coast of the National Park of Cilento.
The bus connects all the towns of the coast and easily reaches places such as Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, and the Reggia (Royal Palace) of Caserta. The SITA Amalfi "“ Sorrento line bus is only 700 meters (about 2,297 feet) away and it is also reached quite fast through a shortcut consisting of 70steps.
There are food shops 300 meters (about 984 feet) away from the house. The center of Conca dei Marini is 1km (about 0.6 mile) away from the villa.
Near the villa you can also park the car along the road.
In addition, for mountain hiking enthusiasts, one can easily reach the famous trail running through the mountains of the Amalfi Coast amid cliffs and breathtaking views. Due to its extraordinary beauty, such path is called "Sentiero degli Dei" (Path of the Gods).

Payment Terms

A 25% deposit is paid at the time of booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property.

Security Deposit

Upon arrival at Villa Michelle the property manager will ask you to pay a security deposit of EUR 600, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damages to the property.

Additional Expenses

To be paid at the property:
cleaning three times a week EUR 150.00/week;
electricity over 200 kW per week according to consumption EUR 0.42/kW.
