THE HOUSE

The farmhouse is divided into two floors, the upper one dedicated to our guests, The warm hospitality is informal but also allows all the privacy our guests desire.
The structure can host up to eight guests, with an option to add spare beds if necessary. We offer Bed and Breakfast services or autonomous use of the apartment with kitchen.
All the rooms and washrooms are complete with heating, and wood for the cozy fireplace is provided. Also available are baby beds and high chairs for our infant guests. Pets are allowed, keeping in mind the animals already living with us on the farm.

THE ROOMS

Ascending a beautiful stone staircase, you come to the rooms furnished with vintage furniture. Available are: a double-room connected to an adjacent room with single beds, sharing one bathroom; a double-room separated from an adjacent room with single beds, sharing one bathroom; and a large double-room having its own bathroom.
There is also a large living space with kitchen facilities and a beautiful stone fireplace designed for relaxation and meals.
All linens are furnished and have been purchased with special attention given to the quality of their materials (goose-down comforters and quilts, anti-allergy and/or orthopaedic feather pillows, made of cotton of highest Italian quality).

IN THE PROPERTY

Around the house you will find terraces and verandas complete with tables and lounge chairs for basking in the sun, as well as a patio with a large wooden table, ideal for barbeques. There is also a shaded area where you can simply take a nap or enjoy your favourite book under the gentle branches of a majestic oak tree.

THE COUNTRYSIDE

Near the village of Chianni, you can explore on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback a labyrinth of footpaths and trails rich in natural and historic treasures. We can supply you with maps to plan your itinerary. You can also rent mountain bikes in the nearby town of Casciana Terme, where it is also possible to rent a Quad (a small, 4-wheel motorscooter) and go on a guided excursion.
In the woods surrounding the Farm there is a lovely little brook and, from the beginning of June as the summer sun warms the earth, you can go there to refresh mind and body, taking your place in the environment of wildlife including squirrels, tiny tree frogs, and, towards dusk, porcupines and wild boar.

In the valley of the farm runs the Sterza river where you can go swimming at Garetto place.

The village of Chianni (also accessible on foot) there is a swimming pool facility and a children's pool.
You can also find swimming pools in the towns of Casciana Terme and Peccioli; the latter is particularly interesting and also has a prehistoric park for children.

In the valley of Chianni lies the community of Terricciola and the famous Wine Path (la Strada del Vino), where local producers of fine Chianti delle Colline Pisane wine open their vineyards for wine tasting.

ITINERARIES

Intorno a Chianni particolare è l'escursione alla "Fonte del ghiaccione", cascata d'acqua gelida anche nel periodo più torrido e alla "Rocca di Pietracassia", antica torre di avvistamento medievale su base etrusca,sotto le belle arti che avvisava Pisa di un eventuale attacco dall'interno; di facileimpegno, una volta arrivati, oltre a riposersi e pranzare sui tavoli di legno, è possibile osservare dall'alto delle mura, animali rari quale il Muflone senza che questi se ne accorgano...
LARI
"Venni a Lari e dalla sua rocca mostrai paese vasto, la parte più bella di Toscana" parole di Leopoldo II D'Asburgo-lorena, Granduca di Toscana: Lariè molto conosciuto per la sua produzione di ciliege, esaltate ogni anno in occasione della tradizionale sagra che si svolge nelle ultime domeniche di maggio.
IIn questo piccolo borgo, oltre al castello, è presente una fabbrica artigianale che è possibile visitrare in luglio e agosto, periodo, inoltre, in cui si
svolge una rassegna di musica e teatro "Larinscena".
THE SEA
il Podere Casa Vecchia sembra immerso nell'entroterra toscano, ma il mare vicino è nascosto al colle Montevaso, dove sono state ritrovate tombe etrusche. Il mare quindi è raggiungibile in 30 minuti, si
scende da Castellina Marittima nella costa sotto Livorno: Rosignano, Vada e le sue spiagge bianche, Cecina con la sua estesa pineta. Molto bella l'escursione di un giorno con nemmeno un'ora di
viaggio, nell'incantevole golfo di Baratti sovrastato dalla cittadina etrusca di Populonia
LARDERELLO
..per gli scienziati l'interesse verrà catalizzato dalla geotermia nella Valle di Larderello con i suoi "soffioni", detta anche "Valle del Diavolo" dove si può passare per raggiungere Massa marittima,città di rara bellezza,...per gli amanti del Birdwatching, oltrepassata CascianaTerme, ecco l'oasi L.I.P.U. del lago di S. Luce, (www.cestopisano.it) riserva naturale provinciale; da visitare anche poco distante è il Centro Buddista di Pomai, (www.iltk.it) soggiorno occasionale del Dalai Lama e altri personaggi famosi. Un Centro molto aperto all'ospitalità e accoglienza...
