Our holiday gite is situated at 4.5 km from the bastide town of Villefranche du Périgord,in the heart of the Périgord,on the border of the Dordogne and the Lot.
La maison des Parrots offers every luxury and total privacy with superb views of an unspoilt countryside. The cottage,well decorated and furnished in french style is a charming renovated barn,not overlooked,set in two acres of land,tranquil garden with large trees for shade and a terasse for meals. It is near our farm house but is totally independant with separated garden,access,parking...SPECIAL PRICES FOR COUPLES.

In Villefranche du Périgord,you can find all kinds of shops,restaurants,a bank,a post-office...There is a pool open throughout July and August,a tennis court,fishing lake...

The area around the house has large pine,oak and chestnut forrests with marked walks for that quiet stroll.

The gite des Parrots is ideally located for exploring the many delights of the Périgord and the Quercy:

-The medieval cities of Sarlat and Cahors.
-The bastide towns of Domme,Monpazier,Belves...
-The spectacular Rocamadour,Saint Cirq Lapopie or Laroque Gageac....
-The Chateaux de la Dordogne: Beynac,Bonaguil...
-The subterranean caves of Gouffre de Padirac,the cave of Lascaux or Pech-Merle.

The area is extremely popular and renowed for its gastronomic delights. There are fresh-produce markets for every day of the week ( Prayssac on Friday - Villefranche on Saturday - Cazals on Sunday - Puy l'évêque on Tuesday etc...)

Cosy restaurants serve Perigordian specialities:Foie gras,magret de canard,confit at kind prices. There is a Ferme Auberge at 500m from the gite. You can go there by foot!
The acclaimed Bordeaux,Bergerac and Cahors vineyards are a short drive away.

There are many activities to be found: canoeing,rambling,fishing,mountain-biking,horse riding,golf...
