By air: Book a flight to Split. Then take the direct airport-bus or a taxi/cab which brings you to the harbour of Split. Cost of the bus 4.-?, a cab costs 40-45.-?. Driving time is approx. 45 min. The bus station in Split is only few meters away from the ticket booth and embarkation quay for the catamarans and ferries to Hvar. With a catamaran you are going directly to Hvar town within 60 min. Ferries, catamarans The other connections are ferries from Split to Stari Grad (ferry port of the island Hvar). Travelling time is 2 hours. From the ferry port in Stari Grad you can take a bus or a taxi/cab to Hvar, the journey lasts 25 min. Please ask the taxi driver what he is asking for the transport, could be very expensive! With car: Take the highway/autocesta A1 "Dalmatina" from Zagreb to the exit of Split. Then follow the signs for "trajektna luka"/ferry port, which brings you directly in the harbour where you have to take the ferry to Stari-Grad. Driving time from highway-exit Split to the ferry 30-45 min, because of heavy traffic in the town of Split! Purchase your tickets for the ferry as described above. From Stari Grad follow the signs for Hvar. If the street is wet be extremely careful it could be slippery! Parking (paid) is available in the region of Dolac at the bus station.
